Assuming you're 18 years and older, you can apply to a community college in your area. No high school diploma is required. Since it appears you will not be a resident, you will have to pay out of state tuition. You will need to take a placement test in English and Math when you enroll. If you are placed in remedial courses, you will need to complete those first and they do not count for college-level degrees. Please note that community colleges do not offer high school diplomas; that is something you need to look into with adult education services offered by your local board of education. How to apply to comunity college ?
The first thing you need to do is join your local community college. When you sign up there is usually only a one time fee. It tends to be really small and your membership lasts your entire lifetime. It also tends to give you many student discounts on many things within your community such as movies or car rentals. Once you have your student membership, you can use that to do various things within the college. What you'll probably what to do once you have joined is look at going through a high school completion program or sign up and prepare to get your GED. You should see a counselor at the community college to help you plan out your future at the college. They can help guide you to see if getting an GED or going through HS completion program is best for you. After you get a High School diploma or GED, you can then take a ';College Placement Test'; to see how well you do in certain areas. The CPT will determine what classes you start off taking when or if you decide to start taking college level classes. Don't feel bad if you do badly in one or more areas on the test. Most people do well on two portions of the test, but horrible in one area. The testing helps gauge what you're good at so that you can take the classes that will prepare you the most for future classes. They don't want people to start taking classes they are unprepared for, that is largely what the testing is there for. After you do that you can see some more counselors who can help you figure out what you want to major in. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you stick to things in medicine or the sciences though, most people get useless and stupid arts degrees that don't lead directly into well paying jobs.
You should probably get your GED.
