How to apply rebar to a 30 x 26 ft. cement garage pad? How far apart and how to start it?

If you are pouring a monolithic Garage slab then the following:

Install (2) runs of re-bar in the turn down portion of the slab. The first should be about 4'; above the bottom of the ditch. The second will be 4'; below the top of the slab. Attach the runs to vertical cut pieces of re-bar no further than 48'; apart. This is assuming the slab turn down is 12'; or less. Lay down wire mesh over a poly vapor barrier prior to pouring. After the pour, using a rod with a hook, pull the wire mesh about half the distance. A typical slab is 4'; thick, so the wire mesh will be at 2'; above the vapor barrier. You can also eliminate the wire mesh by ordering fiber mesh reinforced concrete from the batch plant. How to apply rebar to a 30 x 26 ft. cement garage pad? How far apart and how to start it?
You only need 6x6 wire mesh for the main area of the floor. Around the perimeter you have to use number 4 rebar up on chairs to get it off the ground.

I really don't advise doing this yourself. Cement work uses a lot of special equipment and it's not something you can go back and fix if you do it wrong. For a floor that big you will need a power screed, a device for making expansion joints, something to get the air out of the concrete and numerous other things to do it right. If you screw it up, it can crack and seize on you or not drain. Just doing the form work is pretty skilled on a job that size. How to apply rebar to a 30 x 26 ft. cement garage pad? This site will help show how to install the mesh 150mm x150mm 10mm or 12mm whatever they have in, which is the right product for your job not rebar, use saddles as shown to lift the mesh of the deck and don't forget the steel should not go to the edge of the slab so leave at least 50mm or 2 '; around the edges of the slab, plus over lap the joins as shown..

Instead of rebar, I would use 6x6x#10 woven wire mesh. It's more than ample for reinforcement of a garage floor provided it gets pulled up into the concrete as you pour. It's also a lot easier to work with than rebar. Hope this helps.
It all depends on the thickness of the concrete.
