Easy way to remove old caulk around tub and shower door that looks messy and how to apply?

I use a razor blade when I do this to cut away most of the caulk. Don't go crazy, because when you reapply new caulk, it will cover any remaining caulk and will look new. I use Does It All, which is a multipurpose, water based kitchen and bath caulk. Cut the tip off on an angle about 1/4 - 1/2 inch from the tip. Use a caulk gun and genlty squeeze trigger while applying a thin strip. Do one straight section at a time, then go back with a wet finger and make one continuous swipe. The trick with caulk is to not overapply, or you'll make a mess. To stop the caulk from coming out of gun, you'll need to push in the metal clip on the back of the trigger.

(I would NOT advise using a 5-in-1 while scraping against tile or a tub)Easy way to remove old caulk around tub and shower door that looks messy and how to apply?
You need a painter's tool called a 5 in 1 to scrape the old off. Sorry there is no easy way to remove the old other than scraping it off. The tool has a sharp edge at the top to scrape flat suraface and various pointed and blunt one to get into the cracks and crevices. You need to get caulk that is specifically made for kitchens and baths due to the moisture that is there at all times and it also has a mildewcide in it . YOu need a caulk gun and some rags to wipe off the excess on the end of the tube. Try to put it on evenly and smoothly, which is not easy if you haven't ever done it. Use your finger to smooth it out and make it look nice. YOu can't use it for 24 hours afterward and you also need to make sure it is throughly dry before you apply the caulk. I have been painting for 13 yeaRs and I can tell you it is not easy but probably anything will be an improvement over what you haVe. Good Luck I hope this helps
