I have acquired a pretty old bass boat with less than desirable gelcoat. I have lightly sanded the red tinted clearcoat off to discover that the black base coat with silver metalflake looks pretty decent. Is it possible to sand and prep the base coat without removing it, and how do you apply the tinted clear coat if so. Spray, sand, cure, etc. etc........How do you apply gelcoat to a boat?
