How do you apply Windows XP themes to your computer?

I think I'm about ready to branch out from Luna. I've had my eye on Noir, and I have downloaded the zip file, unzipped it, and it is sitting in my Desktop. After reading countless howto pages it sounds like it's supposed to magically appear in the theme drop down menu of the display properties box instantaneously after dl, though I've had no such experience. As I've said, it is now sitting unzipped in my Desktop. What do I do? :oHow do you apply Windows XP themes to your computer?
extract the zip files to c:/windows/resources/themes and then it should show up in the drop down menuHow do you apply Windows XP themes to your computer?

ok, when you download zip files...what you have to do is right click the folder...then click on extract all... then click on next and then type in this:

C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes

and there you go....now go to the desktop properties by right clicking any where on your desktop and clickin properties....ok then from there click on the appareance tab and choose one from there...if the one you unziped is not there..then go to my documents and type in

C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes

then look for the theme you unziped and click on the one that has an icon that looks like a brush painting a window...then the desktop properties will pop up and it will show you a preview...after that click apply and there you go...
