How do you apply granule fertilizer to plants?

Broadcast the fertilizer evenly over the root zone at the rate specified on the label. The root zone starts near the trunk or crown and usually extends outward about as far as the width of the leaves or branches. Avoid having the fertilizer land on or lodge in the crown of the plants or on the branches. Water in.How do you apply granule fertilizer to plants?
You'll want to broadcast the fertilizer close to the root zone of the plants. You can use a whirly bird (Scotts makes them, it's a hand held granular fertilizer application device) or just get a bucket, fill it with fert, and throw it like you were feeding chickens!

I've used both methods, just depends on if you have a whirly bird or not. Make sure you do get the fertilizer to the roots and not on the plant. If you get it in the plant, brush it off. If you leave it, it may cause damage (you'll see spotting on the leaves). How do you apply granule fertilizer to plants?
dig a small trench along side the plant(s) and insert the granules and as it rains or you water the plants it will dissolve and will be absorbed through the plants roots
