How can we apply our knowledge of the the Kubler-Ross cycle of grief to everyday life?

For instance: using my knowledg of 'group think' i would appoint a 'devils advocate' to raise opposing views within the group.

I need that kind of application. Thanks in advance for your help :)How can we apply our knowledge of the the Kubler-Ross cycle of grief to everyday life?
On the one hand, death is unique.

On the other hand, other things besides death cause shock and grief -- other losses.

Losing one's job; losing one's home; divorce; child moving out.

Recognizing that whatever you're going through has similar pieces to it, helps you gain some insight into what you're going through, and helps you realize that you're in a particular stage, but you will (or can) eventually move on.

When you recongnize what stage you're in, you can do things appropriate to that stage, to help yourself move to the next. Possibly create a ';ritual'; where you say good bye to the whatever, for example.

Sorry, but I'm not familiar enough with the cycle and what moves one to the next stage to be more specific.

I don't know that ';everyday life'; is quite right -- it's meant to apply to very big losses, not, say, breaking a nail. You don't need to go through a set of stages, nor do you usually need help getting past it.
