small picture displayed before URL is called ';FAVICON';. It is a DHTML concept. It is supported by only IE 7.0 and other latest web browsers (very latest FIREFOX, OPERA etc.,).





First of all download any ';.jpg to .ico'; converter. because favicon should be an ICON file, which ends with .ico extension. Convert an image of 16 X 16 pixels into ICON file and save it to the ROOT FOLDER of the website with the name of ';favicon.ico';.





Then paste the following code in the HEAD tag (inbetween %26lt;head%26gt; %26amp; %26lt;/head%26gt; tags.

Not simply a image renamed to the .ico (icon) extension, but a valid icon file.
