How to apply for a job?

Should I just ask for an application from an employee or should I ask for the manager? I'm 16 and I need a job this summer to pay for gas and other expenses. I just need to know the etiquette for this kind of thing....How to apply for a job?
It's always good to find a manager to find out if they are hiring so you don't waste your time. But make sure you go at a time when they're not swamped--like if you go to a restaurant, DON'T go during the busy lunch or dinner hour or they'll be instantly annoyed. If it's a large retail store, I would think it's fine to just ask an associate for an application, then when you come back, ask if you can see a manager to deliver your application. Good luck! How to apply for a job?
you can ask an employee for an application you can also ask for the manager but it depends on what kind of place it is like if it's like a fast food restarant or a department store something pretty simple you can ask the person at the cash register they can give it to you or they might get the manager if it's something more proffesional like (for example) applying for a receptionist position at a nursing home or hospital you may want to ask for the manager but you don't have to it depends on how you feel about it cause I actually am a receptionist and some ppl just ask me for applications or they ask to speak with human resources(boss over all departments) or they ask to speak with the department head (D.O.N. Director of Nursing department) you might get lucky and get an interview on the spot especilly if they are in need of employees so when you decide to go job hunting wear something nice it don't have to be like business suite unless you want to it can be nice but casual/comfortable like a nice pair of khakis (they hav khakis for girls) and a nice shirt like a button up or something more approriate with a nice pair of shoes like some ballet flatsor something like that no tennis shoes GOOD LUCK JOB HUNTING
yes...to make yourself stand out from other applicants, you need to approach the manager, introduce yourself by telling him/her your name, the school that you are attending and tell him/her your hobbies and try to relate that to the job duty.

I've done this many times when I was your age and I have gotten the job on the spot. GL
First impressions do count no matter what people say, so look the part of a decent, clean cut individual.

Ask for the manager and get the application from him/her. That's who will be doing the hiring.....good luck
You just ask whoever is there. But when you drop it off after you've filled it out ask for a manager to give it to. If they aren't there give it to whoever is there and ask what the manager's name is and when they will be there. Then call within a few days of dropping off the application to see if the manager got it.
*most people just go to th place advertising and ask for an application form,or phone for an application form.don,t forget to ask hen the application form needs to be returned by and enclose a cv..just in case you do not have a c v i have found you a site that shows you how to do one .good luck.

really depends on the type of job and where - if you ask an employee most will point you in the right direction. good luck
Make your CVs or resumes on the computer with your personal details, education, personal skills etc. Pick some stores or places you would like to work and visit them and ask for the manager. Even just walking around your town or a shopping mall will always have vacancies. If the manager is not there ask them if you can leave your CV/resume. Make sure you are polite and courteous and ask questions as it shows you are keen and can communicate well. Make sure you dress smartly to give a good impression and follow up on places where you visited with a phone call to see how applications are going.

Hope this helps and good luck!
no reason to get the manager, just walk in and someone will probably ask if they can help you. Be interested, and ask them if you can have a job application. They'll give you one :)
